Economy Websites - What happens after I receive my site?

This is a very important question. You should read this page carefully and at least understand the basics, before you ask us to prepare your site.

After we have finished and sent you your site, you have to "do" something with it - you have to "put it" somewhere, so that people can read it on the internet.

There are three main possibilities:

  • You may have free webspace available on your Internet Service Provider's servers.
  • You can arrange for a specialist company to host your site.
  • You can ask us to arrange everything for you.

Option 1: Host it on your own webspace.

This depends on the agreement you have with your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Many ISPs, in addition to providing internet access, provide a small amount of free webspace for their customer's use. It is quite possible that you have this facility available, without fully realising it.

If your ISP provides this, the number of people who will visit your site is not too large, and you don't need a domain name (explained on the next page), this will probably be your best option. You should check with your ISP whether this is possible.

If this option is possible and you don't need a domain name, it is likely that you will be able to host your website permanently at no cost whatsoever, apart from the regular payment you are already making to your ISP.

Option 2: Arrange for a specialist company to host your website.

If your website is likely to have a very large number of visitors or your site contains many large files, this could be your best choice - although it is likely to be the most expensive. There are many companies that provide this service. If you don't know where to start, type "Web Hosting" into Google's search box. This will produce many results that you can investigate.

Option 3: Ask us to arrange everything for you.

We can host most websites that we have produced for £2 per month (paid annually), with no initial setup fee. As a long-term solution, this offer will be hard to beat.

We have seen special introductory offers by companies that are cheaper, e.g. £0.99 per month for the first year. However, when you read the small print, the price jumps up to e.g. £4.99 per month after the first year. Companies that make offers like this are trying to suck you in and then hoping you won't want to go through the rigmarole of moving your site when the offer runs out.

You can feel confident that if we host your site, our prices will always be economical and fair.
